What's new this year: Founder Stories

Road to success is never straight forward. Sometimes you fail several times before achieving success, sometimes you´re lucky and you don´t. But you improve your odds by learning from those who´ve taken the same road before you. Done those mistakes. And have priceless advice to share.

So, for the first time ever, we will have a whole series of awesome stories, both the triumphs and epic failures, by experienced startup founders. We´re glad to introduce you the brave men and women who are going to take the stage on Latitude59 2017. Meet the speakers!

Nick Dobrovolsky
Starting his professional career in 1995 as a software engineer, he quickly rose to become one of the founders & CEO, and later, a vice president of a multi-national Parallels corporation. He also played a key role in the development of Parallels Desktop for Mac, the world’s first software that let Mac users run Mac OS X and Windows applications at the same time. You will want to know what this guy has to say about.

Kristel Kruustük
Having worked as a tester herself, and become disillusioned by how testers were treated by big app-building companies, she came up with the idea of building a platform that would actually appreciate the work of a tester – Testlio, a company of which Founder and CEO Kristel is. What it's like to run a company of her own and how she's made it that far – it´s a talk worth listening to.

Martin Rand
As an ex-Skyper, it´s not a surprise that Martin too became a startup founder. He´s the CoFounder & CEO at VitalFields.com, a global Farm Management system that was acquired by The Climate Corporation, a subsidiary of Monsanto Company in 2016. Like every startup founder, Martin also had to go through the process of deciding why and when to sell. His experience could be very handy.

Eric Migicovsky
Eric, the Founder of Pebble, describes himself as a Systems Design engineer focused on developing creative products that integrate smoothly into daily life. And that´s what his company does as well – Pebble builds smart watches. And they were building them already in 2008, meaning, before they were cool. Now everyone´s doing it. So how to keep up, have a lead? Maybe Eric can answer that.

Mari Joller
She´s a kickass product & business builder and a serial entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in digital and mobile services. Having successfully developed businesses from back-of-the-napkin ideas to millions of users and both hired and led high-performing engineering, product and marketing teams across geographies and cultures, her talk is a “must” for everyone aiming high, fast and far.

Fred Krieger
Founder & CEO at Scoro, an end-to-end work management solution, which allows professional and creative services to control their entire workflow from one place. Before becoming a startup founder, Fred was in the show-business - besides being a successful leader, he´s also a talented musician. Does talent count when it comes to building a successful business or lays the secret elsewhere? Freds´ talk might show some light upon it.

Armands Broks

TWINO is the fastest growing marketplace for high-yield consumer loans in Europe. As the Founder & CEO, Armands is responsible for leading the development and execution of the company's long-term strategy. His dream is to change the future of FinTech. What is his magic formula for doing that? It´s good question to ask from someone as good with numbers as Armands is.

Rainer Aunpu
Combing Big Data Smart Search with Self-Learning Matchmaking, Skillific is a talent search engine that discovers and filters out the best job candidates from all possible sources based on skills. The man behind the company, Founder & CEO of Skillific, is Rainer – a highly experienced entrepreneur with a talent for making innovation happen. How does he do that? We´re sure his talk will point you to the right direction on your seek for answers.

Chris Kelsey
As the CEO of Cazza, a company providing the world’s next-generation large-scale 3D printing construction technologies and services to make construction faster, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly, Chris is on the frontline of new technological revolution. Future is in the making – it opens new frontiers to conquer, but also sets obstacles no one can predict. How do you cope with the chaos? Chris will share how he´s managed to do so.
